Qualification
Membership
is open to any sworn, full-time or retired law enforcement officer (peace,
police officer) in the United States.
Associate
Membership
Any
non-law enforcement individuals can join as associate members and are
entitled to all of the same benefits of law enforcement members (with
the exception of voting rights).
Professional
& Social Networking
Lodge #317 has more than one thousand members from different agencies
and departments. The lodge has several meetings and events throughout
the year. Lodge #317 also has a reputation as one of the most active and
largest lodges in New York.
Accidental
Death & Dismemberment Insurance
Members in good standing who have joined prior to the age of 63 and whose
names are on file with the New York State Lodge are eligible to receive
a $10,000 benefit until the age of 70. The benefit is reduced to $5,000
after the age of 70. Coverage applies on or off the job. (* Please
note - If you are late with a renewal after the age of 63, the insurance
company will NOT renew your life insurance benefit.)
Survivor's
Aid Death Benefit (Non-accidental death or dismemberment)
An active member's beneficiary is eligible to receive a $750 benefit until
the member's age of 63. At age 63, the benefit is reduced to $250.

NY
State FOP Lodge & Lodge #317 Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded annually from both the NYS Lodge & Lodge
#317 to member's children. An application for the Lodge #317 Scholarship
fund is available on this website (see above). (Please contact the

for information
about their available scholarships.)
Priority
Admission to Major Medical Centers
Priority status is offered at world renowned Deborah Heart
& Lung, Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Nassau University Medical
Center.
Lodge
#317 Stork Club
Qualified members of Lodge #317 who have a newborn child
or grandchild, or adopt a child under the age of 18, may apply for a U.S.
Savings Bond ($50). (Please note - you must be current on your membership
dues. Lapses in membership may preclude eligibility.)
New
York State FOP License Plate Program
Members are eligible to order exclusive New York State FOP license
plates designed to show your fellow officers and other members that you
are a proud member of the FOP. (Application is available on the NYS
Fraternal Order Of Police Official Website.)
